What should I do before storing my travel trailer?
Before storing your travel trailer, here are a few important steps you shouldn’t overlook. They could save you a lot of trouble and costly maintenance bills!
Drain the tanks.
To prevent water lines from bursting due to freezing temperatures, remember to drain the water heater as well as all the plumbing in the bathroom and kitchen. You should also use an antifreeze approved for use in RVs.
Clean your RV.
Air out your travel trailer, empty the refrigerator and cabinets, vacuum the interior, and check the condition of the seals. This will help you avoid unpleasant surprises when the next camping season begins!
Seal and insulate the various openings.
Not only will this prevent water and snow from getting inside your travel trailer, but it will also — and most importantly — prevent small animals from making your recreational vehicle their cozy winter shelter!
